چکیده

Using the latest data pertaining to ū− d̄ asymmetry and the spin polarization functions, detailed implications of the possible values of the coupling strength of the singlet Goldstone boson η′ have been investigated in the χCQM with configuration mixing. Using ∆u, ∆3, ū− d̄ and ū/d̄, the possible ranges of the coupling parameters a, α2a, β2a and ζ2a, representing respectively the probabilities of fluctuations to pions, K, η and η ′ , are found. To further constrain the coupling strength of η′, detailed fits have been obtained for spin polarization functions, quark distribution functions and baryon octet magnetic moments. The fits clearly establish that a small non-zero value of the coupling of η′ is preferred over the higher values of η′ as well as when ζ = 0, the latter implying the absence of η′ from the dynamics of χCQM. Our best fit achieves an overall excellent fit to the data, in particular for ∆u, ∆d, ∆8 as well as the magnetic moments μn, μΣ− , μΣ+ and μΞ− . The implications of η ′ on the gluon polarization have also been investigated. The chiral constituent quark model (χCQM), as formulated by Manohar and Georgi [1], has recently got good deal of attention [2, 3, 4, 5] as it is successful in not only explaining the “proton spin crisis” [6] but is also

Singlet GB contributions in the chiral constituent quark model

The implications of the latest data pertaining to ū−d̄ asymmetry and the spin polarization functions on the contributions of singlet Goldstone Boson η′ within χCQM with configuration mixing for explaining the “proton spin problem” have been investigated. It is found that the present data favors smaller values of the coupling of singlet Goldstone Boson η′ as compared to the corresponding contribu...

طیف مزونها و وابستگی به پتانسیلهای فوق ریز

In most models, mesons consist of quark -antiquark pairs moving in a confining potential. However, it would be interesting to consider the effect of an extra residual interaction by introducing the quark particles which contain a dependent spin and isospin. In the Chiral constituent quark model, the hyperfine part of the potential is provided by the interaction of the Goldstone bosons, which ...

Hypercentral Constituent Quark Model and Isospin for the Baryon Static Properties

So far the static properties of hadrons have been introduced in various models. The static properties of hadrons (charge radius, magnetic moment, etc.) are useful for understanding the quark structure of hadron. In this work we have introduced the hypercentral constituent quark and isospin dependent potentials. Here constituent quarks interact with each other via a potential in which we have ta...

Nucleon resonances in the constituent quark model with chiral symmetry

The mass spectra of nucleon resonances with spin 1 2 , 3 2 , and 5 2 are systematically studied in the constituent quark model with meson-quark coupling, which is inspired by the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry of QCD. The meson-quark coupling gives rise not only to the one-meson-exchange potential between quarks but also to the self-energy of baryon resonances due to the existence of m...

Nucleon-nucleon scattering in a chiral constituent quark model

We study the nucleon-nucleon interaction in a chiral constituent quark model by using the resonating group method, convenient for treating the interaction between composite particles. The calculated phase shifts for the S1 and S0 channels show the presence of a strong repulsive core due to the combined effect of the quark interchange and the spin-flavour structure of the effective quark-quark i...
